BYD Delegation Visit

On 18 August 2009, APAS organized a delegation visit to BYD Headquarter at Shenzhen Pingshan. There were 29 participants which included APAS’ board members, R&D Club members and senior representatives from more than 20 automotive parts companies in Hong Kong. The site visit included a tour to BYD’s electric vehicle manufacturing line, test drive of its dual-mode EV - F3DM and a lunch meeting with BYD senior representatives. A lot of valuable ideas of BYD’s vehicle development model were shared and potential collaboration opportunities between BYD and the Hong Kong industry were explored. The visit had generated positive feedback from the participants.

Dr. Roy Chung, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of TechTronic Industries Co. Ltd, and Prof. Maria Cheung, Executive Director of Hing Yu Metal Works Ltd, shared their views from Hong Kong auto parts industry.
